World History Honors

Welcome!

Find information about the teacher and class from our site.  The site was started as a way to add additional communciation and access to information for students; especially homework assignments.  

Course Outline

Required Materials for Class:

  • Modern World History text
  • 1” 3  ring binder with paper and 8 dividers
  • Pen and pencil
  • Internet access

Notebook

  • All other assignments make up 25% of student grade.
  • DBQ’s (Document Based Questions) will be announced with rubrics if they will be graded as assignments or tests.  
  • Notebooks will be a progress monitoring grade.  Notebooks are required to have learning scales, an up to date table of contents and the current class and home work.  
  • Notebooks are required for the class and count for as much as 25% of the student’s overall grade.
  • Notebook checks will be random by date and period. 
  • Notebook checks are typically 10-20 points and at least one notebook checks per week
  • Homework will be assigned daily with the expectation that student stay current

Homework Rubric

Tests

  • Quizzes may be given at any time during class.
  • If you are tardy and miss the quiz, then the student must make up the quiz after class. 
  • Tests will be scantron based or computer based.
  • Tests will include a written portion.
  • Most questions are multiple choice, however some tests include true/false, matching or short answer.
  • All tests must be completed within the class period. 
  • Make up test may be essay based or abbreviated question count.
  • Test and quiz grades make up 75% of student grade.
